Sierra Leone Police Train Immigration Officers on Communication Handset Use
Ten officers from the Sierra Leone Immigration Department have been trained by the Sierra Leone Police on the proper use of communication handsets.
The aim is to improve coordination during patrols and other field operations.
The training took place at the Senior Officers’ Mess in Kingtom, Freetown, as part of ongoing cooperation between the two institutions.
It included hands-on sessions on handling and operating handsets in real-life field scenarios.
Head of Police Communications, Chief Superintendent Cecilia Akibo-Cole, urged participants to use the devices with care and strictly for operational purposes.
Head of Training, Deputy Superintendent Alpha Kamara, said similar sessions have been held before under a long-standing partnership.
Representing Inspector-General William Fayia Sellu, Director of Operations, Assistant Inspector General John Martin Senesie, said the initiative supports partner agencies in building operational capacity.
He urged the officers to act professionally and responsibly, and stressed that sustained cooperation strengthens coordination across the security sector.
