MMTU Launches Academy Targeting Students, Market Women and Young People

Milton Margai Technical University has launched the Sierra Leone Education in Entrepreneurial Pedagogy and Skills Entrepreneurship Academy, known as SLEEK.

It aims to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, practical skills and global networking for students, market women, persons with disabilities, and young people.

The academy is designed as a hub for teaching and learning, knowledge-sharing and business development, helping participants exchange ideas and connect beyond Sierra Leone.

At the launch, Mr Papa Njai acknowledged the support of the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Dr Mohamed A. Jalloh.

Dr Jalloh commended the project team for building a facility that supports teaching, learning, innovation and community engagement.

He also encouraged other staff to develop similar innovative projects.

A highlight was the official opening of the facility, marked by a ribbon-cutting led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, followed by a tour of the centre.

Dr Jupta delivered the vote of thanks.

The academy is expected to expand access to entrepreneurial knowledge, practical skills and business networks, particularly for groups that may face barriers to such opportunities.
