UNICEF, UK Boost Makeni Neonatal Care with £32,000 Medical Equipment

UNICEF, with support from the United Kingdom Government, has provided medical equipment worth about thirty-two thousand pounds to help restore neonatal services at Makeni Regional Hospital.
The equipment will support the Special Care Baby Unit, which was destroyed by fire and previously provided care for premature, low-birthweight and seriously ill newborns.

The equipment was handed over on September 29 at the Directorate of Reproductive and Child Health in Freetown.

UNICEF says the support is part of efforts to strengthen newborn healthcare and expand access to lifesaving services across Sierra Leone.
