What Landed These Two Chinese Businessmen in Pademba Road Prison

Two Chinese nationals have been remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown over an alleged fraud involving 54,825 US dollars.

Jai Qibin and Zhou Rong, representatives of Sinotruck International Capital Company Limited, appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at Pademba Road Court Number 1.

They face two counts of conspiracy to defraud and obtaining money by false pretences.

The prosecution alleges they conspired to defraud Hong Kong What Group Company Limited of the money, paid for 270 tyres.

It claims the tyres were represented as quality Chaoyang and Double Coin brands meeting agreed specifications.

The alleged offence took place on April 26, 2025, at Aberdeen in Freetown.
