Why Musa Tombo Cannot Play Outside Sierra Leone

The newly elected President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, had addressed the pressing issues surrounding footballer Musa Tombo during his first public appearance held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, on AYV Media.

Kamara emphasized the need for understanding and compassion regarding Tombo’s mental health, stating that he is unable to play outside of Sierra Leone.

Kamara detailed Tombo’s recent experience in Tunisia, where the player joined a training camp but collapsed twice, which led the team management to terminate his contract and send him back home.
“When he went to Tunisia, he joined the team for training twice, and he collapsed twice, which discouraged the team management,” Kamara explained. “They decided to terminate their contract with him and send him back.”
