Warning of Heavy Rainfall Issued to Sierra Leone Residents
The Sierra Leone Meteorological Agency (SLMet), through the National Disaster Management Agency (Ndma), has issued an urgent public advisory warning of heavy rainfall forecasted to hit Sierra Leone over the next three days.
The warning follows a climate forecast by the Sierra Leone Meteorological Agency, which has observed moderate to heavy rainfall across several parts of Sierra Leone, particularly the Western Area, Northern, Southern, and Eastern regions. These weather conditions are expected to continue over the next three days, 12th to 14th September 2025.
Furthermore, the Sierra Leone Meteorological Agency and the National Disaster Management Agency have therefore alerted the general public that these conditions may result in: isolated poor visibility, Slippery road surfaces, Flooding in vulnerable and low-lying areas, and Disruption of normal activities.
