SLPP Uncovers Many Fake and Unverified Members After Intensive Review of Party Records
The ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party has launched a major review of its membership records to clean up its database and move to a digital system. Officials say the party has identified numerous people whose membership claims cannot be verified.
Part’s spokesman Moses Sellu Mambu warned that several individuals including high-profile figures have not paid dues, hold unrecorded cards, or belong to rival parties. The move follows a high-profile dispute with potential leadership candidate Musa Tarawally over his membership status.
The SLPP insists the audit covers the entire party as it prepares for the 2028 elections. Officials say anyone whose records fail to match will be asked to clarify their status or face removal from the official register.
