Italian Businessman Alleges Ambush Over Dispute with Admire Bio
An Italian businessman has testified in Sierra Leone’s High Court that he was ambushed by about eight men shortly after collecting a disputed gold package in an alleged 210,000 US dollar fraud case involving Admire Frances Bio Jalloh a niece of President Julius Maada Bio and her husband.
During cross-examination, the complainant, Alfio Siracusa, admitted he never personally tested the gold, growing suspicious only after police and associates told him the package lacked government stamps and that true 23-carat gold could not be bought for 70,000 dollars.
