Government Warns Public Against Dealings With Unregistered Charity Group in Sierra Leone

The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development is warning the public against any dealings with a group calling itself the World Changing Centre Charity, after confirming it is not a registered non-governmental organization in Sierra Leone.

In a notice from its headquarters at Tower Hill, the Ministry said the group lacks government recognition and has no authorization to carry out or implement programs anywhere in the country.

Officials are urging members of the public, development partners and international bodies to steer clear of any business or engagement with the charity.

The Ministry is also calling on anyone with information about funds the group may have received for local operations to come forward immediately, either to the Ministry itself or to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Sierra Leone Police.

The warning is the latest in a series of government notices aimed at protecting citizens and partners from unregistered organizations operating in the charity space.
