Government Permanently Revokes Registration of 15 Non Compliant NGOs
Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has permanently cancelled the registration of 15 non-governmental organisations after they failed to update their official status. The decision follows a 30-day deadline given to 31 suspended charities, half of which failed to comply with government rules.
The affected groups, which include the Paida Foundation, Sudu Salone, and Life for African Mothers, are no longer legally recognised in the country. Government officials have warned the public, international donors, and development partners to immediately stop all business with the de-registered organisations.
