Former President Bai Koroma Thanks Bio for Facilitating Return, Pledges Support for National Unity

Former President Ernest Bai Koroma has thanked President Julius Maada Bio at State House following his return to Sierra Leone after more than two years in Nigeria. Koroma pledged to support national peace and offered to share his leadership experience to help unite the country.
Koroma returned to Freetown earlier this month after treason charges against him—linked to an alleged 2023 coup attempt—were officially dropped by the government. He had been allowed to travel abroad for medical treatment in 2024 following international diplomatic talks.
