Court Remands Two Lawyers in US$114,000 Vehicle Fraud Case
Two lawyers in Freetown have been remanded in custody by the Pademba Road Magistrate Court following allegations of conspiracy and fraud involving three vehicles valued at 114,000 US dollars.
Prosecutors allege that the accused conspired at a law firm on Dundas Street to obtain the Toyota 4Runner vehicles from a complainant by falsely promising payment within thirty working days.
While the defence applied for bail citing their professional standing and health concerns, the presiding magistrate denied the request and adjourned the matter to August 10 for trial.
