President Julius Maada Bio and First Lady Fatima Maada Bio have taken a break from their official duties for a family day out, visiting some of Sierra Leone’s most cherished natural attractions.

The First Family visited Leicester Peak, where they enjoyed panoramic views of Freetown and the Atlantic coastline, before travelling to the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary in the Western Area Peninsula.

The visit gave the couple and their children an opportunity to reconnect as a family while also exploring Sierra Leone’s natural heritage. At Tacugama, the children reportedly learned more about the conservation and protection of the country’s chimpanzees.

The family later spent time relaxing at a farm, bringing the day to a quieter close away from the demands of official life.

In a post shared on Facebook, the First Family described the outing as a reminder of the importance of family, creating lasting memories and appreciating Sierra Leone’s natural treasures.

The day also offered a glimpse into a more personal side of the President and First Lady, showing that even amid the pressures of public service, family time and the country’s natural beauty remain important.
