Babadi Kamara Marks One Year as SLFA President With Record of Reforms

A year ago, Babadi Kamara won the SLFA presidency in a landslide. Today, he’s marking that anniversary with a long list of wins — on and off the pitch.

Since taking charge, Kamara got FIFA’s financial sanctions on Sierra Leone lifted, landed major sponsorship deals worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, and cleared over $250,000 in inherited debt.

On the field, Leone Stars returned to international football after five years away, beating Liberia in Bo — while the U-17 Girls brought home a WAFU trophy.

Kamara’s also pushed women’s football forward, creating the FA’s first-ever Women’s Football Department, and boosting Sierra Leone’s global standing with a seat on FIFA’s Commercial Committee.
