Ministry of Lands Delegation Completes Ghana Study Tour, Advances to Kenya for Continued Reform Lea
A Sierra Leonean delegation from the land sector has concluded a five-day study tour in Ghana and is set to depart for Nairobi, Kenya, on August 1, 2026, to continue the second phase of its regional learning mission.
The delegation, led by Deputy Secretary Alusine Sesay of the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning, engaged extensively with key institutions within Ghana’s land administration system. Coordinated by the Ghana Land Commission, the visit combined high-level policy discussions with technical sessions and field exposure aimed at strengthening Sierra Leone’s ongoing land reforms.
During the tour, the team held engagements with the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Ghana Land Commission, the Licensed Surveyors Association of Ghana, the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands, the Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority, and the Ghana Institution of Surveyors. A field visit to the Customary Land Secretariat in Gbawe provided practical insights into how customary land governance is managed at the community level.
