Health Ministry Reports Sharp Drop in Maternal Deaths After 5 Months of 300-Day Health Campaign

The Ministry says maternal deaths have dropped by 30 percent, while child deaths have reduced by 14 percent after the first 150 days of the campaign.
Health officials also reported that 79 percent of children who had never received routine vaccines have now been identified and immunised.
Health Minister Dr. Austin Demby said the results show what can be achieved through teamwork and better healthcare services across the country.
He explained that the Ministry is using real-time local data to quickly identify health problems and respond to emergencies in different communities.
The Ministry says it will continue working with health workers and communities to ensure these improvements continue beyond the 300-day campaign.
