SLRSA Chief Meets Nigerian Envoy to Strengthen Road
The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) is seeking deeper technical and institutional cooperation with Nigeria as both countries move to strengthen road safety systems and reduce traffic crashes.
SLRSA Executive Director James Bagie Bio made the appeal during a high-level meeting with Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Ambassador Ayo Luther-Ogbomode, at the Nigerian High Commission in Freetown on Tuesday, 11 August 2026.
The engagement builds on a five-year Memorandum of Understanding signed in Abuja in July between SLRSA and Nigeria’s Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The agreement provides a framework for cooperation in road safety management, capacity building, research, crash data, vehicle administration, enforcement and public education.
