August 19, 2026News

The head of JM Mining Company in Kenema District has raised concerns after police and military forces ended their security contract at the Kamboi Hills site. Company CEO Jerry told reporters and officials that the sudden withdrawal broke the terms of their agreement, leaving operations exposed to potential damage and theft.
According to the CEO, the contract required a 60-day notice period with full security maintained throughout. He says the forces pulled out just three days after giving notice, leaving 57 days unaccounted for. He is now calling for urgent help to resolve the dispute and enforce the original terms.
