Government of Sierra Leone Inducts Newly Recruited 704 Civil Servants Into Public Service
Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Public Administration has inducted 704 new civil servants in the government’s first major onboarding program in nearly ten years. The recruits are taking part in a two-month training course at the newly upgraded Public Service Academy as part of efforts to modernize the country’s public sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Amara Kallon reminded the recruits that they are the face of government for ordinary citizens. He urged them to protect public trust by holding onto high professional standards, following proper procedures, and rejecting informal shortcuts.
The ministry hopes the new training initiative will build vital skills, strengthen workplace ethics, and drive long-term reforms across public institutions. Officials say the new intake will play a key role in improving public services across the country.
