Sierra Leoneans Reportedly Barred from Travelling Through Conakry Airport

Popular Sierra Leonean rapper Natasha Beckley has raised concerns over reports that Sierra Leonean travellers are being prevented from departing through Conakry International Airport in Guinea.
Beckley made the claim on her Facebook page on Wednesday, August 19, saying the development is heartbreaking for Sierra Leoneans who use Conakry as an alternative airport for international travel.

She said one of her contestants is scheduled to travel to Sri Lanka, but the reported restriction could create additional financial pressure because flights from Freetown are often more expensive.

According to Beckley, her agent informed her that Sierra Leoneans could no longer travel out of Conakry. However, the exact nature and official basis of the reported restriction remain unclear.
