U S Ambassador Designate Reveals Company Set to Construct Lungi Bridge

The long-awaited Lungi Bridge finally has a builder in sight. U.S. Ambassador-designate Daniel Travis told his Senate confirmation hearing that Sierra Leone has struck a deal with American firm Acrow Corporation to construct the bridge, which would directly link Freetown to Lungi’s international airport.

The project could end decades of reliance on water transport between the capital and the airport — but Freetown has yet to officially confirm the agreement, and details on financing and timelines remain unclear.
