Justice Fisher Orders Suspended APC Executive to Account for Party Funds
High Court Judge Justice Adrian Fisher has ordered the suspended All People’s Congress, APC, executive to provide a detailed account of party funds held in other bank accounts.
The order was made on Friday, August 28, 2026, following a case brought by Alfred Peter Conteh and Mohamed Sheridan Kamara challenging the legitimacy of the Yansaneh-led executive.
Justice Fisher ruled that the executive, led by Osman Foday Yansaneh and Secretary General Lansana Dumbuya, had overstayed its constitutional tenure, which expired on February 13, 2026.
The court also ruled that the Political Parties Regulation Commission, PPRC, had exceeded its legal authority by attempting to extend the executive’s tenure beyond the period provided for in the APC Constitution.
Justice Fisher said the party’s constitution remains the basis for determining the tenure and authority of its leadership, stressing the importance of constitutional order and accountability within the party.
The ruling is expected to further influence the ongoing leadership dispute within the APC. Supporters of Alfred Peter Conteh say his legal challenge demonstrates his commitment to accountability, internal democracy and greater participation by party members
