Guma Valley Begins Installation of 2,120 Water Meters Across Freetown

Guma Valley Water Company has begun installing 2,120 water meters across Freetown to improve billing accuracy and accountability, with 557 already fitted, Managing Director Ing. Mariwan Kallon told a Chief Minister’s Office Delivery Clinic.

The company is funding meters for existing customers, though new customers will bear their own costs.

Kallon said of roughly 90,000 registered beneficiaries, only about 18,000 are currently billed, and improving actual water delivery remains the priority. Storage capacity has also risen to about 132,000 cubic metres after a new facility came online.
