SLFA President Babadi Kamara Urges Sierra Leoneans to Rally Behind Leone Stars

Sierra Leone Football Association President Babadi Kamara has called on Sierra Leoneans to rally behind the Leone Stars as they prepare for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Kamara described the national team as a unifying force, saying football brings Sierra Leoneans together across different communities.
The Leone Stars are preparing to face Zimbabwe on September 24 and Equatorial Guinea on September 28 in Group E of the qualifiers.

The team, under coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa, has been conducting training sessions with home-based and foreign-based players.

Kamara has also stressed the importance of good governance and improved football infrastructure across the country.

Sierra Leone missed the 2023 and 2025 AFCON tournaments, and the team will now be seeking a strong qualifying campaign for a possible return to the continental competition.
