Samura Kamara Will Be Made President ‘Shortly’ – APC Politician Kemoh Sesay

September 16, 2026News

Senior APC politician and former minister Kemoh Sesay says Samura Kamara will be made president “shortly” and that the APC may not take part in the 2028 elections.

Speaking to Truth Media, Sesay said the party will not participate in the next general elections unless the recommendations of the Tripartite Committee are fully implemented.

Sesay said the APC considers the 2023 presidential election dispute unresolved. The Electoral Commission declared President Julius Maada Bio the winner with 56.17 percent of the vote, while Kamara received 41.16 percent.

The APC rejected the results at the time, citing concerns over the transparency of the tallying process. The party, however, did not take the matter to court.

Sesay said implementing the Tripartite Committee’s 80 recommendations would provide a path towards what he described as electoral justice. He also said the issue is not simply about making Kamara president, but about upholding the rule of law.

Kamara has also said he is not focused on the 2028 elections while the 2023 dispute remains unresolved. The APC has meanwhile undergone changes in its leadership and representation in the Tripartite Committee.
