President Bio Champions Value Addition and Investment at UNSTOPPABLE AFRICA 2026
President Julius Maada Bio has urged African countries to stop exporting raw minerals and start processing them at home. Speaking at the UNSTOPPABLE AFRICA 2026 event, he said keeping the production on the continent is key to building strong industries and creating good jobs for young people.
He also called for bigger investments in local infrastructure, like roads and energy, to power these new businesses. He stressed that Africa must add real value to its own natural resources to boost its economies and support sustainable growth.
World leaders, including UN chief António Guterres, supported the message at the high-level opening ceremony. The event focused on building global partnerships to help drive Africa’s business and economic future forward.
