Hon. Lahai Marrah Denies Viral Video, Says It Was Doctored for Personal Gain
The All-People’s Congress (APC) Chairman for Falaba District, Honorable Lahai Marah, has dismissed a widely circulated social media video that appears to show him making political threats ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Marah insists the footage was manipulated by individuals seeking to distort his message and damage his reputation.
The controversy comes at a time of heightened tension, following Marah’s recent arrest by Sierra Leone Police while traveling to Freetown. His brief detention has fueled public speculation about possible political motivations behind both the edited video and the police action.
“I wish to categorically state that the content being shared is manipulated and does not reflect the truth of what was said,” Hon. Marah stated, firmly rejecting the video’s authenticity.
He urged Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), and the public to review the original recording in order to understand his true message. According to Marah, his remarks were focused on safeguarding the integrity of the upcoming 2028 elections, not promoting division.
