Chief Minister Sengeh Moves to Host Super Bowl Winner Jaxon Smith Njigba in Freetown

Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Moinina Sengeh, has extended a formal congratulation to NFL star Jaxon Smith-Njigba following his victory in Super Bowl LX on Sunday night.
The message, posted to social media shortly after the Seattle Seahawks’ 29–13 win over the New England Patriots, has sparked nationwide excitement over a potential visit from the champion wide receiver.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Sengeh highlighted the pride felt by the nation after Smith-Njigba competed on the world’s biggest stage while wearing the Sierra Leonean flag on his helmet.
“Together #WeWillDeliver! Congratulations to our very own Jaxon Smith-Njigba on your Super Bowl win,” the Chief Minister wrote. “All of Sierra Leone is proud of you. Can’t wait to receive you in Freetown!”
The “Green, White, and Blue” decal on Smith-Njigba’s helmet was a focal point for local fans throughout the broadcast, serving as a tribute to his paternal grandfather, John Njigba, who immigrated to the United States from Sierra Leone.
