NDMA Issues Rainy Season Disaster Warning for Port Loko Residents
The National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) has cautioned residents of Port Loko District to prepare for risk of disasters as the peak of the rainy season approaches, with climate change continuing to intensify extreme weather events.
NDMA Regional Coordinator, Khalil Sheriff Kabba, said the most common disasters expected during the rainy season include flooding, windstorms, and thunderstorms, particularly in July and August when rainfall is at its highest.
